Day 3: Lighting and UV mapping!

Today we looked a lot more into how to light objects correctly and how to texture simple things like a die. It is similar in theory to max but things are slightly different which sometimes annoys me makes up for the fact that Maya does have some cool features!

Even though I am doing this course as a games course, so don't really need to learn how to set up a scene properly and how to light it, it is always nice to know how to do it if i ever wanted to show things off. But we are also learning the theory behind lighting so i suppose it is good to know that, as when i get it in game i will know where i want to put lights to make the objects i create look best.

I will be quite interested once we get into how to unwrap objects that are very irregular, like broken concrete pillars etc

Not over the top wow, and it is a little dark (but that sets the mood right:P), but I am happy with that considering i have only been using Maya 3 days!

Going to see the "Haunting in Conniticut" tonight too. reckon it will be scary as shit.
